Schnitzelbank: Authentic German Cuisine in Jasper, IN

I had heard about Schnitzelbank over the years but never had the chance to eat there. It did not disappoint. The pretzel appetizer was fantastic. I got the chopped steak and American fries. The chopped steak was very good. The American fries were absolutely incredible. I am looking forward to going back to try the fried chicken or fish.

Everything was delicious. Atmosphere was great and the wait staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The cheesecake is better than anything I've ever had.

I absolutely loved this place! The food is authentic German cuisine and the choices of wine and German beer is exceptional! I loved the gift shop goodies too! The staff is very professional and they keep you satisfied! Das is gut!

Absolutely loved my visit here it really rekindled my memories from having lived in Germany. The food was outstanding with large portions. The beer list was phenomenal and the dessert. Ooh mine Got!! I may actually plan a trip just to eat there again

We had the 3 meat sampler platter and kraut and hot German potatoe salad and streusel with cinnamon ice cream. It was all wonderful. My favorite was the goulash. We'll try some sausages next time.

My waitress seemed scattered and unable to keep up with the number of tables she had. I felt rushed and dismissed. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was amazing. Just could’ve had a better server.

Delicious food. Love the German atmosphere and affordable take home options. They have a store in the front of the dining area with many Christmas ornaments and other fun German items that brought to mind Chriskindlmarkt (the German Christmas Market in Carmel, IN) the pickles are a must!

This is top-tier German cuisine right in the heart of the American Midwest. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress was highly educated on the offerings and was able to provide several suggestions on food and drink. We opted the sauerkraut balls for an appetizer. They are a heartier version than I’ve had anywhere else; not lacking in delicious ground pork. The had a delectable beer selection including several drafts and bottle of imports for the road. They had several menu items that I wanted, but we chose the chicken schnitzel and the pork shank. The schnitzel was a simple classic take, and I would definitely recommend it. The pork shank was quite the spectacle, and certainly did not disappoint the palate. It was a very large portion and savory gem to say the least. The gift shop also offers several trinkets and treats. This place is a 5 out of 5. I can’t wait to go back!!
